    subtraction

    Is there a commutative property of subtration? Explain why or why not. In your answer, include a statement of what a commutative property of subtration would be if there were such a property.

    Thank You

    Thank You
    If the substraction is commutative, this means that numbers can be inverted :

    A-B=B-A

    Is it always true ?

    Subtraction is not commutative: 3 - 1 is not equal to 1 - 3.

    Thank You
    Let us assume the following:

    x - y = y - x

    x + x = y + y

    2x = 2y

    x = y

    Thus it is true if the two numbers are equal to each other.
