I a ring cost 2154 after tax and tax is 7.7% what is the cost before tax?


can someone tell me if I did this right ?
X= cost before tax
2154 x 1.077= x
x=2000

The answer looks good to me.

Your second equation, though, should probably read:

1.077x = 2154 - somehow you got the right answer, perhaps just a typo.
