solve for y:
6x-2y=18
I got Y= 18-6x
-2
not sure if thats right or if it's a +2?
Thank you in advance
$\displaystyle 6x-2y=18$
$\displaystyle -2y=18-6x$
$\displaystyle y=\frac{18-6x}{-2}$
$\displaystyle y=-9+3x$
$\displaystyle y=3x-9$
It should be a negative 2 you divide by...if you divided by positive 2, then you would be left with $\displaystyle -y=\frac{18-6x}{2}$ then you would just end up dividing through by negative one.
Then you can simplify further and divide 18 and 6 by negative two to get rid of the fraction.
Looks good!
