# Math Help - Inquality Question

1. ## Inquality Question

i usually don't have much of a hard time, working these, but this one got me:

y - 2x > 3

the box of values given is: x: 0 1 2
and obviously the y section is blank.
i have to explain how i determined which one to shade or whateva.
yeh, but when your figuring out the numbers to put in the box, do you leave out the inequality sign?
this one is kinda harder than usual, can you guys take me through?

What is this box you speak of

3. well you know how you plot figures for inequaliy on grids.

Hmm...I have actually never seen this...this is strange considering it is in a form that implies bijection..which is not the case in an inequality..maybe it wants you to list the points of the line $y=2x+3$?

That would be my guess.

6. well it is written like this: y-2x x >3
the > is mean to say that whatever y is, it's larger than 3.
do you have any ideas?

7. the box basically helps you find the numbers, to plot on the graph.
and to help you determine where to shade, if it's true.

8. ## could it be

regions you check to see if the points are true or false
pick two coordinates either side of line
which ever agrees with the answer of the inequality=true
therefore shade in this side of the line
