    matrix singular values and inverse

    Hi guys.
    I need help finding the singular values of this matrix.

    A = | 0.3 0.2 0.1 |
    | 0.3 0.4 0.25|
    | 0.25 0.43 0.5 |

    I also need to find the inverse of the [I-A] matrix. I is the identity matrix.
    Only need the final values.

    By the way is there any mathematical program that I can use to calculate that. Thanks for your help.

    I think you can try to use MATLAB, it has nice build-in routines especially for linear (matrix) algebra. I just used its build-in function “svd” to find the answers to your question. The singular values of this matrix are:  0.9469,\; 0.2220 and  0.0626.
    We can also use the build-in function “inv” to find the inverse of a given matrix. The inverse to your question is
    \begin{bmatrix}2.9915 &2.2222& 1.7094\\3.3023&5.0505&3.1857\\4.3357&5.4545&    5.5944\end{bmatrix}
