    Tricky word problem..

    The perimeter of a rectangle equals one and a half times its area. Express the length of the rectangle in terms of the width (use variable "w" for width).

    P=2l + 2w

    A=lw

    P=\frac {3A}{2}

    Therefore:

    P=\frac {3lw}{2}

    And:

    2l + 2w=\frac {3lw}{2}

    4l + 4w=3lw

    4w=3lw-4l

    <br /> 4w=l(3w-4)

    <br /> l=\frac {4w}{3w-4}
