    ah another linear equation, fortunatly I am quite good at these
    again I will go through as best as I can.

    5(2y-5)=3(y-1)
    so now we have to use a technique where we multiply everything inside the brackets by the outside number so this is what happens.

    10y-25=3y-3

    now what I did is I went 5x2y=10y, 5x-5=-25, 3xy=3y, 3x-1=-3
    so now

    10y=3y-3+25
    remember the 25 changes signs.

    10y-3y=-3+25
    then

    7y=22
    now we lastly divide so

    y= 22/7 y=22
    -
    7
    or y= 3.14286
    hope that helps
