are you trying to find the value for "a"? and is the 4 and 7 there for a reason?

3. ## um..

Yes..
i am trying to find a
$\frac{3(2a-1)}{7}=4$...using the distributive property $\frac{6a-3}{7}=4$...then by multiplying both sides by 7...you get $6a-3=28$...adding three to each side you get $6a=31$...then finally by dividing by six you get $a=\frac{31}{6}$
