# multiply base three numbers using the lattice system

multiply base three numbers using the lattice system
I am stumped on one of my multiplication problems using base three and the lattice system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the problem:

(2 1 2 three) ^2 X (2 1 2 three)

My teacher gave us two lattices to use for this problem. The first one is 3 x 3 and the second one is 6 across and 3 down. We have had other base three multiplication problems to complete and I have been able to do them fine. What is throwing me here is the fact that the 1st number is raised to the second power and the fact that she gave us two lattices to use. Any help would be great.

The first lattice is for the \$\displaystyle 212^2\$. For reference I get that to be 201121, which has 6 digits. So the second lattice is for this number times 212.
