    Exclamation Classic Log Question.Please help!

    Solve the simultaneous eqn.

    Log(base)2 X - Log(base)2 Y=4
    Log(base)2 X(squared) + Log(base)2 Y(power of)3=-7

    The second equation can be re-written as

    2 log_2 x + 3 log_2 y = -7.

    Now let a = log_2 x and b = log_2 y in each of the two equations.

    Solve for a and b simultaneously. Then x = 2^a and y = 2^b.
