    Solving Quadratic Equations by Factoring

    Solve by factoring.

    x^2 - 4x = 0

    Can that be factored?

    (x)(x - 4)
    x = 0
    x = 4

    Is that right?

    You might find this post useful, it explains how to factor quadratics using a very simple method, if you can grasp it, you'll be good for the rest of algebra and up through trig ( if you plan on taking it ). Factoring Quadratics for Idiots

    Hello,

    I've got an even better way...

    If m and n are roots of ax˛+bx+c, then :

    m+n=-\frac ba

    And

    mn=\frac ca

    Right ?
