    Unhappy Help to a 5th grader please!

    Could someone please explane surface area?

    There are six faces all of which are squares. If you add up all the areas on each face you get the surface area!

    Another example. You have a pyramid. Its faces are triangles, if you find the area of all the triangles TOGETHER you would have the surface area!
