    I cant simplify this equation

    Im trying to combine this two equations to solve it:

    and

    I got this far:

    0.5 = ( 0.876 - VAf ) / (VAf + 8.76)

    Is it possible to find out what VAf is from this?

    Images don't work but going on from what you have:
    0.5 = \frac{0.876 - VAf}{VAf + 8.76}
    0.5(VAf + 8.76) = 0.876 - VAf \quad \mbox{Multiplied both sides by } (VAf + 8.76)
    0.5VAf + 8.76 = 0.876 - VAf

    Collect like terms as you would normally
