I cant simplify this equation
Im trying to combine this two equations to solve it:

and

http://www.physicsforums.com/latex_i.../1659673-2.png

I got this far:

0.5 = ( 0.876 - VAf ) / (VAf + 8.76)

Is it possible to find out what VAf is from this?

o_O
Images don't work but going on from what you have:
$0.5 = \frac{0.876 - VAf}{VAf + 8.76}$
$0.5(VAf + 8.76) = 0.876 - VAf \quad \mbox{Multiplied both sides by } (VAf + 8.76)$
$0.5VAf + 8.76 = 0.876 - VAf$

Collect like terms as you would normally ;)
