1. ## Help!

Hi guys! I have one math problem, I cannot solve. Please help me out. Here's the question:

"How can the number 39 be divided into two parts in order that the sum of 2/3 of one part and 3/4 of the other part is 28?"

I think you need to make some equation to solve this problem, but I cannot make a proper equation, please help me out.

Let one of the numbers be $x$ then the other is $39-x$.

Then we are told that:

$\frac{2}{3}x+\frac{3}{4}(39-x)=28$

which you can now solve for $x$.

x=15
