    Blocks of wood puzzle?

    Four identical blocks of wood are placed touching a table in the positions shown.

    How high is the table?

    let the height of the table be H, and the height and width of the
    blocks be h and w respectivly.

    Then we have:

    <br />
96=H+h-w<br />

    and

    <br />
84=H-h+w<br />

    Now add the two equations:

    <br />
180=2H<br />

    so:

    <br />
H=90<br />
