Multiply top and bottom by of 1/√2 by √2 .....

yeah, you're not supposed to have radicals in the denominator of a fraction, therefore you multiply the top and the bottom of the fraction by √2 and so the squareroot is cancelled out of the bottom, leaving 2. and √2 is multiplied by one on the top, which leaves √2/2
