if a pc manufacturer has new models, at 450 a piece, and 25 sold per week. However, during a sale, it was droped to 350 a piece, and 75 were sold per week.
If (s) is the amount of units, and (x) is the price of a unit.....
1 - show that (x) and (s) are related, it wants me to do this using the following: s = 250 - (1/2)x
Im not very familiar with this, can anyone help?

I think you just have to replace the values given by the text in the function they give you. If it corresponds, then you can consider that x and s are linked by this formula.

OK, I was really reading into that bit way too much, you're right, just linear for that bit, the actuall part I should have asked you was if the factory has costs of £300 per unit and a fixed cost of £2000 a week, I guess weekly cost can be (c), then why can cost per week be
c=2000+300s in relation to c=77000-150x
obviously c=2000 (fixed costs) and then + 300s is £300 for every unit sold, but how do i relate that to c=77000 - 150x
