How to find if the Given Pair is a Solution to the Equation

Hey, y'all, I'm having some trouble with some math homework (which means I'll probably be posting more threads here shortly), and I was wondering if you guys could give me some help on figuring out how to work this problem.

BTW, this chapter is on graphing and application of linear equations.

*Determine whether the given ordered pair is a solution of the equation.*

(4,2); 2x+3y=12

I've been doing similar problems, but this one through in an extra number that I honestly have no idea what to do with. Here's an example of one of the problems I did good with:

*(1,7) y=2x+5*

7=2*1+5

2+5=7

TRUE

One the problem I'm having trouble with, that 3 in front of the Y is throwing me off. What am I supposed to do with it? Thanks for the help.
