Solve for $R$ when $\theta = .9948\;rad$

$R = \frac{\pi}{\theta - \frac{sin\;2\;\theta}{2}}$

$R = \frac{\pi}{\theta - \frac{2sin\;\theta\;cos\;\theta}{2}}$

$R = \frac{\pi}{.9948 - \frac{2sin\;.9948\;cos\;.9948}{2}}$

$R = \frac{\pi}{.9948 - .4568}$

$R = 5.84$

Is this correct?

Yes but you are making a real mean of it.

$R = \frac{\pi}{0.9984 - \frac{\sin(1.9896)}{2}}$
