What quadratic(? its a cubic - but never mind) equation will be used to
solve:

$
3x^3-2x+1=x+5
$

If we bring everything over to the same side of the equation we have:

$
3x^3-3x-4=0
$
.

So the required function is:

$
y=3x^3-3x-4
$
.
