    Population Density ?

    here go's

    can anyone explain how to work out this Question?

    Japan population - Millions 125.0
    Population Density - People per km 331

    What is the total area of japan in square kilometres 10,000s

    any help will be gratefully recieved

    Actually the units on the population density should be \text{people}/\text{km}^2

    So the area of Japan will be:
    \frac{125.0 \times 10^6}{331} = 377644~\text{km}^2 = 37.7644 \times 10^4 ~\text{km}^2
