# Thread: Manufacturing Cost

1. ## Manufacturing Cost

The weekly production cost C of manufacturing x watches is given by the formula C = 4000 + 2x, where C is in dollars.

A. What is the cost of producing 3000 watches?
B. What is the cost producing 4000 watches?
C. Replace C with y to become a linear equation and graph
the equation.

Questions:

1. For A and B above, must I replace x with 3000 and then 4000, respectively, to find the cost C?
2. For C, the given formula become y = 4000 + 2x. Yes?
I must then graph y = 4000 + 2x on the xy-plane? True?

Yes.

No. You are 4am Tues. We are 7pm Tuesday. 13 hour diff.

7. ## Re: Manufacturing Cost

Let x = 3000

C = 4000 + 2(3000)

C = 4000 + 6000

Cost = 10,000 dollars.

Let x = 4000

C = 4000 + 2(4000)

C = 4000 + 8000

C = 12,000 dollars
