    Sales Tax Rate

    A set of trading cards sells for 8.95 before tax . After sales tax, its costs 9.60. What is the sales tax rates?

    Tax amount = 9.60 - 8.95

    Tax amount = 0.65

    0.65 is what percent of 8.95?

    0.65 = 8.95x

    0.65/8.95 = x

    0.0726256983 = x

    07.26 = x

    7.3% = x

    Yes?

    I have a suggestion for you. You have posted two copies of this problem, differing only in the numbers. In the future, please try to solve one of these first, then post the second if you must after you know how to do the first one. You are wasting your own time by doing things this way.
