# Thread: PreAlgebra class for a 57 year old!

1. ## PreAlgebra class for a 57 year old!

Good morning,
I am in the process of completing my college degree and have basic math requirements that are going to pose a major challenge!
I have a 3.8 GPA after the fall and spring semesters, now comes my math requisites and it is not pretty. I haven't taken a math class in about 40 years and am completely lost in my "Introductory Algebra" class after the first week.

With that said am I in the right place to get assistance when I run into problems I am struggling with?
Thank you in advance for any input.

Denis, thank you!
Remember the old saying "careful what you wish for"! Lol
I have a problem that has me stumped, I will post it later on when I'm out of work. (If I can figure out how to type a fraction in parenthesis squared!). Thank you..

Using "LaTeX" on this board, typing [ math ]\left(\frac{a}{b}\right)^2[ /math ] without the leading and ending spaces in [ math ] and [ /math ] gives $\displaystyle \left(\frac{a}{b}\right)^2$.

If you don't want to use LaTeX, write (a/b)^2.
