    Desired Markup

    Hi all,

How do I calculate the desired markup to reach a specific end figure?

For Example, if I wish to Increase a Purchase of 6.00 to a Sale Price of 24.00, how would I calculate the desired markup percentage?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Desired Markup

    $\text{markup} = \dfrac{\text{desired sales price}}{\text{purchase price}}\cdot 100$

    In this example

    $\text{markup} = \dfrac{24}{6} \cdot 100 = 400\%$
