1. ## Math problem Parenthesis & PEMDAS

hi i need some help with a problem our teacher gave us we were supposed to put parenthesis (as many as we need) on an equation to get the answer 14 and i need some help with that. I've tried everything but I just can't figure it out.
the expression is 2x2+3^2-4+3*5

it's not too hard.

try to form $a - b = 14$

where $a$ is made up of numbers and symbols to the left of the minus sign, and $b$ is made up of those to the right of it.
