    How does y-x/y become 1-x/y?

    I was watching a video on Triangle Similarity when a ratio came up - CF/AB = y minus x over y. The person in the video then continued to write CF/AB = 1 minus x over y. Can someone please show me the steps on how to derive that?

    y-x/y ---> 1-x/y

    (y-x)/y ---> 1-x/y
    in future, use grouping symbols for in-line expressions ...

    $\dfrac{y-x}{y} = \dfrac{y}{y} - \dfrac{x}{y} = 1 - \dfrac{x}{y}$
