Question Lost in Alg2 and failing

Im currently a junior in high school, im in cyber school and am failing Alg2. Ever since Alg1 I've struggled with Algebra and geometry and never really understood it. I only took algebra 2 because I heard it was a important class and if I went to college I would be required to take it then so I decided to take it now and get it over with. Now im failing it and completely lost I don't even know were to begin to understand it and am considering just failing the class but im scared how that will look on my record. I guess im asking if anyone here is has been in a similar situation and what to do. Right now im working on rational functions and their graphs and I don't even know how to factor and on top of that im about a month behind on my assignment (which sounds bad but really its only like 7 but still). I just wondering if anyone out there has any advice or if anyone out there knows what effect failing this class will have on my GPA/Academic record?
    Thanks - Alatar

We are happy to help out, but it sounds like you need a tutor more than you need the occasional help.

As far as Algebra 2 is concerned I think you need to write down a list of what you are able to do and what you need help on at the Algebra I level. Factoring is critical for much of Algebra II so I'd perhaps start looking at that with an emphasis on how to simplify functions for your graph sketching.
