    Question Factoring a cubic function

    Hi,

I hope someone can help. I'm trying to factor a cubic function, but it appears that I'm doing incorrectly based on my textbook's answer. I attached my steps in this post, along with also the textbook answer. Please let me know where I went wrong in my steps.

    Sincerely,
    Olivia

    Re: Factoring a cubic function

You have what is probably a typo in the second line: you should have
    \frac{1}{8^3}(x^3)^3- 8^3.

That "81" is clearly incorrect. Your solution is correct.
