# Thread: Help needed to re-arrange equation

1. ## Help needed to re-arrange equation

Please can someone help me rearrange the equation in the attached image to = IR

Thank you.

2. ## Re: Help needed to re-arrange equation

Let the denominator be X for convenience. (2*IR)/2 is simply IR.

Our initial equation then can be re-written as

KS = (IR + 1) / X
Hence,

IR = X*KS - 1

EDIT:// Replace X with what the denominator was if desired.

3. ## Re: Help needed to re-arrange equation

$KS = \dfrac{\left(\dfrac{\cancel{2} \cdot IR}{\cancel{2}}\right)+1}{\left(\dfrac{\cancel{2} \cdot FR}{\cancel{2}}\right)+1}$

$KS = \dfrac{IR+1}{FR+1}$

$KS(FR+1) = \dfrac{IR+1}{\cancel{FR+1}} \cdot (\cancel{FR+1})$

$KS(FR+1) = IR+1$

$\color{red}{KS(FR+1) - 1 = IR}$
