    Solve for f

The answer I'm getting is looking really ugly. Could someone help me out?

    f(x)={1/}x+4 and {f(x+ax)-f(x)/}ax

PS -I'm having problems setting up the look of division when asking this question. Could someone help me out on how to type that up in the future?

What you're asking is ambiguous. Are you trying to find

    \frac{f(x + ax) - f(x)}{ax} \,

    in simplest form?

As far as setting up fractions, the code you use to get \frac{a}{b} is [tex]\frac{a}{b}[/tex]
