I think all of us have hated fractions once upon a time...

$\frac{x}{2x+1}=\frac{4}{3}$

Multiply each side by the denominators:

$3x=8x+4$

$x=\frac{-4}{5}$

Good question:

As far as the fraction sign is concerned: x=\frac{-4}{5} is the final line of code there. This may help you: http://omega.albany.edu:8008/Symbols.html

3. When you say "Multiply each side by the denominators" do you mean cross multiply? I dont know if you were taught like that.

It means to multiply both sides by 3 and by 2x + 1. But you can cross multiply if you prefer.
