Which questions are you having trouble with? My recommendations for exponents is to to put everything on one "line." In other words, when you have a fraction, change the notation so that everything is on one line:

$\displaystyle \frac{a\sqrt{b}}{b} = a\sqrt{b}b^{-1}$

Change any radicals to straight exponents:

$\displaystyle ab^{\frac{1}{2}}b^{-1}$

Add up the exponents for like bases:

$\displaystyle ab^{\frac{-1}{2}}$

Depending on what the question wants, change it back into a fraction and radical form:

$\displaystyle \frac{a}{\sqrt{b}}$
