Just a basic algebra eqn. First one to post up the correct solution gets this imaginary check for 1 million dollars.
2x^2 + 15x + 14 = 0
Give it a go.
your first post??! Yeeaaaaayyy!!!! this doesn't factor nicely. use the quadratic formula.
the roots of a quadratic of the form $\displaystyle y = ax^2 + bx + c$ are given by:
$\displaystyle x = \frac {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}$
show me the money!!!
EDIT: just in case you haven't heard the phrase before, by "roots" i mean the solutions to $\displaystyle ax^2 + bx + c = 0$
