3 times something equals 6, hmmmm if your in year 9 or above you should be able to do this without thinking twice.

3x-6=6

3x = 12

x = 4

3(x-2)=6

3x - 6 = 6

3x = 12

x = 12/3

x= 4

To check: 3 (4-2)=6
3(2)=6
