    Simple Algebraic Questions

    Ok, for the life of me, I can't find out the answers even through reading the assigned material to these answers, thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

    These are fill in the blanks.

    1. Dividing by n is the same as multiplying by _________.
    2. If two numbers have the same sign, the product is _________.
    3. If two numbers have the same sign, their quotient is _________.
    4. If two numbers have opposite signs, their product is _________.
    5. If two numbers have opposite signs, their quotient is _________.
    6. The sign of the sum of two negative numbers is _________.

    1) \frac{1}{n}
    2) positive
    3) positive
    4) negative
    5) negative
    6) negative

    You need to think a bit more first of what is actually happening in these scenarios. Division is really just multiplication as shown by #1. This idea helps you out with 2, 3, 4, and 5. Notice how the answers are the same for 2 and 3 as well as 4 and 5. Likewise, subtraction is just the addition of a negative number.
