    Another ratio problem..

    Solve the following proportion for the unkown quantities:

    a : 58 : 132 = 38 : 27 : b

    Just a little confused...any help would be appreciated.

    Solve the following proportion for the unkown quantities:

    . . a : 58 : 132 \:= \:38 : 27 : b
    Take them in pairs . . .

    . . a:58 \:=\:38:27\quad\Rightarrow\quad\frac{a}{58} \:=\:\frac{38}{27}\quad\Rightarrow\quad a \:=\:\frac{2204}{27}

    . . 58:132 \:=\:27:b\quad\Rightarrow\quad \frac{58}{132}\:=\:\frac{27}{b}\quad\Rightarrow\qu ad b \:=\:\frac{1782}{29}
