    questions

    1. Jill is investing $500 at 5% compounded annually. Jess is investing $400 at 6% compounded annually. When will their investments be equal?

    2. when light passes through ice, the light's intensity is reduced by 4% for every centimetre of the ice's thickness.

    a) Determine an algebraic model where T is the ice's thickness and I is the intensity of light.

    Using A=P(1+\frac{r}{n})^{nt}

    n=1 for both

    500(\frac{21}{20})^{t}=400(\frac{53}{50})^{t}

    Can you solve for t?.
