    Finding the missing factor....(help pls)

    1. (a2) ( ? ) = a8

    2. (x4) ( ? ) = x7

    3. ( ? ) (5m2) = 20m5

    4. ( ? ) ( 6a2) = 18a3

    5. ( 3a2b3) ( ? ) = 27a6b7

    I presume that most of these integers are exponents? Try writing them this way:
    a^2 ( ? ) = a^8

    That would be much clearer.

    Solve these problems by division. For example:
    a^2 x = a^8 \implies x = \frac{a^8}{a^2} = a^{8 - 2} = a^6

    etc.
