1. ## Need Help to solve math puzzle- water tank

If one - third of tank holds 80 liters of water, then what is the quantity of water that half of the tank holds?

2. ## Re: Need Help to solve math puzzle- water tank

Let the total capacity of water tank be $x$.

Then $\frac{1}{3}x=80\Rightarrow x=80*3=240 \text{ litres}$
Then half of tank will be 1/2 of x. I think you can do it from now by substituting x.
