simple Agebra
Hi, Am working my way through some algebra problems and am quite stumped in my attempt to simplfy at this point!

((9/x)= 5/(x-3)) = (x(9/x))=(x(5/(x-3))

= (9 = 5x/(x-3))

NB; x= 6+ 3/4.

Hello, nnjond!

Quote:

Solve for x: . $\frac{9}{x}\;=\;\frac{5}{x-3}$

Multiply both sides by the LCD, $x(x-3)\!:\;\;{\color{blue}x(x-3)}\cdot\frac{9}{x} \;=\;{\color{blue}x(x-3)}\cdot\frac{5}{x-3}$

. . And we have: . $9(x-3) \;=\;5x$

Got it?
