    Word problem

    a rectangular box has dimensions of 4 inches x (n+2) inches x (n+5) inches. If the volume is 280 inches^3, find the value of n

    the volume of a rectangular box is just the product of its length, width, and height.

    The problem gives you these 3 numbers in terms of n, and the value of the volume.

    So form the product and set it equal to the volume. Expand it out and rearrange and solve it like you did the polynomial in the other problem.
