I have been given a paticularly time consuming and cyptic quetion for homework. It is as follows
"Can you explain why some patterns have short cycles and some have long cycles? Think about the multiplications done to generate each number in the sequence of powers."
What these Cycles are is the last digit in a sequence of increaing indecies (2^2, 2^3 ect). the cycle for 2 which is amougst the longest is 2, 4, 8, 6 whilst the pattern for 5 is just it's self.
I don't think this question has a solution but if it does please respond.
