1. ## Algebraic Fraction Simplifying

Hi i cant seem to work out how to simplify this if anyone can help thanks.

1/x + x/x+y + y/x-y

2. Start with a common denominator. You tell me what that is and let's see where that takes us.

3. thats the problem i cant seem to find the common denominator once i have got that then i could work the rest out i just dont see where i get it from. thanks

$\frac{1}{x} + \frac{x}{x + y} + \frac{y}{x - y}$
Looks to me like a good common denominator would be $x(x + y)(x - y)$

If you can't get there in one step then add the fractions two at a time.
