    composite mapping

    Mapping f: R --> R is defined by f(x)= x-1 when x >= 0, and f(x) = -x when x < 0.
    How to find the formula for the composite mapping f.f ?

    Hi,
    You have to examine the range of f(x). As an aid, you should graph f(f(x)) with your favorite graphing software. The attachment shows the graphs:
