    Can not understand question

For the function f(x) = 2x^2 - 3x +9, what is the correct expression for the value of the difference quotient on the interval 3 <= x <= 3+h?
I really do not understand the question. What is value of the difference quotient???????

apparently it's what \dfrac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h} is called. Its limit as h tends to 0 is the derivative of f(x).
