    In the problem,
    $\displaystyle 54x^4y^2z^2-36x^4y^3z+18x^3y^2z$
First look at the numbers. Which is the largest number you can factor out? It is 18. Next look at the x, there is first $\displaystyle x^4$ then $\displaystyle x^4$ and then $\displaystyle x^3$, so you can factor $\displaystyle x^3$. Next look at $\displaystyle y$, which you can factor $\displaystyle y^2$, next look at $\displaystyle z$ you can only factor one $\displaystyle z$ because only one appears in the second term and third. Thus, the factor is
$\displaystyle 18x^3y^2z$. Now you need to fill by what you divided. Which gives,
    $\displaystyle 18x^3y^2z(3x-2y+1)$
Important notice the one in the end, it is 1 not 0
