    factor x^2 + 4?

    hi can you factor x^2 + 4? No right?

    That depends. If you are factoring over the real numbers then no, it doesn't factor. If you are factoring over the complex numbers then yes, it factors:
    x^2 + 4 = (x + 2i)(x - 2i)
