    Question:- Factorize x2+49 ?

    You could write:

    x^2+49=x^2-(-49)=x^2-(7i)^2=(x+7i)(x-7i)

    This is certainly equal to the original formula but I would not consider it "factoring". I agree with MarkFL. Since the equation x^2+ 49= 0 has no real roots, x^2+ 49 pr x^2= -49 cannot be factored using real coefficients. But it can be factored as (x- 7i)(x+ 7i) since, if x^2= -49, then x= \pm 7i.
